This is my first ever attempt at fixing cracking marine vinyl. I used the chem screen over the defects to reinforce on the visible side. Using chem screen reminds me of working with epoxy coated thin fiberglass layup, except it’s more forgiving. It’s surprised me how once wet how the chem screen cloth almost disappears into the heat setting adhesive.

I have a pontoon on a lake in South Carolina. Someone burned some debris and a live ember somehow floated in the air to my boat and made a small burn in the vinyl of a chair. I had no idea how to fix it so I called Vinyl Pro in Marietta, GA. I spoke with a man named Paul who was very polite and suggested "Vinyl Hyde" to fill the burn. I ordered it on their web site. Paul got it in the mail and it arrived in two days. I applied Vinyl Hyde with a heat gun. It has made a great seal -- you can't tell it's there.
